QRX-7001 Knob and AU-999 Switch Compatibility Questions

Hello All,

I have a QRX-7001 that is missing the volume knob. I know some of you have multiple models, does anyone know if the volume knob from other models (such as QRX-5001) is the same?

I also have an AU-999 with a source selector switch that is broken (the tip of the metal arm was missing when I got it). I have a power switch from a different AU-999, does anyone know if the metal arm can be removed from that switch and swapped with the broken arm in the selector switch? I’m concerned if I take the power switch apart and ruin it, it will just be a waste (if I can’t use it I’m sure someone else can).

Thanks!

The service manual says it's an "M3" type knob, part number 5317730. It's the same on the 6001 but the 8001/9001 are different. The other QRX, models like the 5500 seem to be different too. I also looked at the 771, another model from that era and it's different too.

The service manuals list the part numbers. You may need to dig deeper.

I tried searching but didn’t even think about the manual. Thanks for pointing that out!

Looking at the picture, it's a good bet you could swap them. But before you go that route, the switches are listed on pg 36 of the service manual. The power switch is P/N 117011. It lists the "pickup load switch" with the same part number. None are called "source selector" but you may be able to match it with another AU-999 switch.
