Qrx 7500a ?

There's a Sansui QRX 7500A listed locally on Craig's list for $98 - states that it powers up with all the lights but there's no sound to the speakers - all knobs are present and cabinet is in good shape. Do you Sansui guys think this is worth pursuing ? I could probably offer a bit lower and I'm thinking he'd probably take it. Does this sound like a major problem with the sound or probably something minor ?

I've bought receivers like that for twenty bucks, and it just wound up being a switch or button that needed de-oxit sprayed on it. However, I don't do the same on hundred dollar receivers, because I'm too cheap to take the chance that it's something major. The one exception was the Pioneer SX-980 that I bought. It's amp side doesn't work, but I pulled the jumpers and use it as a pre-amp with my ST-70 tube amp.

I hear you -- I'll probably pass on it ! The only way I could tell if it was something major is to try and fix it before I buy it and that would be awkward, besides I sure don't need it.

I'm using my Pioneer SX1010 as a pre-amp on my ST-70 as well. It's an awesome setup - to me sort of the best of both worlds !

If the Sansui was $20, I'd buy it - but for $100 - I think I'll pass !

The QRX series are the 4-channel models and are some of the most complex technical designs of the period, so if issues, would probably need a very good tech to have them addressed.
