Hello! I wonder if anybody have replaced the diodes on the driver boards of the qrx-9001, or similar driver boards, and if so, what effect did it have?
Reason for asking is this. I had a problem with the decoder in my qrx-3000. For trouble shooting I replaced the diodes on those boards but I still had the problem. A little more work with a computer generated QS signal and my scope, and I located the problem to a cold solder joint. Problem fixed and the decoder is now much better than before this problem developed. The only component I replaced was the diodes and it obviously had a very positive effect. The exactly same diodes are on the driver boards of the qrx-9001. Do these diodes ( 1s1588 ) get tired when they are ageing? The sound from qrx-3000 is still a little bit clearer than the qrx-9001. Can this be the reason? :scratch2:
