I know not too long ago there was a pawn shop pair around here being sold for $800

Im not sure that pair had feet either
I remember one appeared different than the other
Like a different grille
 
I saw this listing when new as well but didnt make the connection to that pawn shop set

Now i look and

6 months ago I went and purchased a pair of refurbished ESL 57's.
I will never need another speaker in my life.
Boxed speakers sound markedly different to me now....lacking realism.
 
They still becon me, 40 years after giving them up for WAF.
I should have dumped her instead!
They're magical!
But they really are whores. I wish I had stopped drinking five years earlier and I might still be listening to them.
But I didn't. Don't drink and drive ESL57s, even with the Quad power amp:)

(one reason I have B&W 801s: even drunk-which hasn't occurred in 35 years-they're hard to damage)
