Quad ESL-63 speakers more info
The last pair I heard after being rebuilt were about $2,000.00 for the pair. Speakers were designed for small rooms (English cottages?) and 40 -100w amps. Really liked the way they sound. If they were closer to Austin they would be sold. The owner was using a Quad amp to drive them.

NOTE (1) : All new parts are now sold by Quad in Germany. No new parts are sold by Quad UK. All parts for the speakers are available but at a price. Since the Germans have taken over prices in most cases seem to have doubled. New grills for example were £90/pair from Quad UK. These are available from Quad in Germany for £110 each. "

Amplifiers for Quad ESL-63 / ESL- 98 series
Remarks : quite a kinder load than the original ESL , although the 63 and its successors still need stable amplification with power and control. A power rating of 40-100 watts is recommended anyway , tubes or Class A preferred. Two protection circuits prevent possible damage when high output amps are used.
