Quality modern equalizer and spectrum analyzer

Why is it so challenging to find a decent component spectrum analyzer / EQ combo these days? Production seems to have really fallen off after the 80s. All I come across is vintage. I'm not very impressed with the limited EQs available in even some fairly high end receivers. Also, it's nice to be able to make some hands on tweaks on the fly. Can anyone recommend a decent modern version of this component in the <$500 range?

Does Behringer still make the DEC 2496? I think that was the model number - it's been awhile. It had a good spectrum analyzer and all kinds of EQ.
