Quantum rear EMIT

I was standing next to my QLS-1 the other day and the rear tweeter just cut out! Open line at the crossover, haven't removed the EMIT but I'm thinking it's toast.

As a Quantum rear tweeter, it's part number 902-0157, was it used in any other Infinity speakers or identified by another part number?

AFAIK, those tweeters were only used in the QLS 1, 2, and 3, and some KLH (yes, KLH) Research SCX series speakers from the mid 70s (this was during the time when Arnie Nudell was running both companies).

You could also try repairing it using some automotive window defroster compound. This requires good eyes (or magnifying glasses) and a steady hand.

Do you know what the impedance is supposed to be? I'd consider substituting with either a standard EMIT or a Chinese planar, something like this (obviously you'd have to replace both).

I had a dead rear tweeter on my QLS-2's and re-flowed the solder joints and now it works fine. You might give it a try.

In the context of front and rear EMIT: What is their resistance? Is rear different from the fronts? How are the 3+1 wired compared to the 3?

The rear Tweeter on the QLS-1 Part# 902-0157 I believe was a 6 Ohm Tweeter. Here are a few pictures and Ohm reading of two Tweeter.

Yeah but I don't know how. It just started working, I had flipped the switch several times but at that point, it still didn't work. Flipped the switch yesterday and it worked...
