Quartz lock issue ?

I have a JVC QL-A2 turntable. It will play fine in 33 rpm and then all of a sudden its will speed up to 45 rpm or more and wont go back to 33 rpm speed. I turn it off and come back later and will work okay again for a while. Whats the problem and how can I fix this issue ?

It's usually dirty controls. In this case the only involved control is the 33/45 switch. Open up the turntable and spray Deoxit on the internals of the switch, then work it back and forth. Usually solves the problem. If it doesn't, there are most likely 33 and 45 trimmer pots on a circuit board inside that could also be sprayed.
