Quest: Nakamichi knobs for TA-4A receiver

With social distancing in practice, I get to delve into audio projects!

I have a Nakamichi TA-4A Stasis receiver in good shape overall, except that the bottom 3 knobs are in rough shape and I was thinking of a donor unit, maybe a slightly cheaper Nak receiver, to help with that.

Shot in the dark here: does any Naka-phile happen to know if the TA-4A has the same diameter of knobs (the two selectors AND bass, treble and loudness), as the TA-3A? And all aluminum clad too, with the TA-3A?

I know that the TA-2A is different, I think it has plastic knobs all around.

Anyone replaced these knobs with other great-looking knobs bought online?

Thanks if anyone has any insight!

Take care and enjoy the music.

Wow, I sure hadn't thought of that. Can it be made to look nice, or anything like the original?

Hope this answers a question or two. The 2A are on the right they are plastic and smaller in size but work on the 4A . The tone ones the position marker is 180 degrees from20200323_132719.jpg 20200323_132754.jpg to correct position.

I think just the volume knob is different between TA-2 and TA-4...doesn't the TA-3 and TA-4 have light up pointer on the volume knob?...the TA-2 does not

enjoy that TA-4...great STASIS tuner amps...

Thank you so much for this. It's really useful. I think the difference btw the 2A and the 4A in knob size and also material is too great for me. I continue on with the quest for the 4A knobs. Wondering though, if the 3A knobs are the same as the 4A. That would double my chances of finding a donor unit one day....

I am in the same boat. If anyone has a TA4A volume knob that we can make 3d copies of please let me know

I’m in the same boat with a Ta4 volume knob. Picked up one of these units and I couldn’t get the broken pieces glued back in that broke off from previous owner there the knob slides on the shaft

I know it’s been years but I’m an original owner in the same boat with my TA4A, any luck 3D printing or locating a volume knob?
