question about bing cashback

brutal

I've pre-arranged a sale for some gear and was wondering if anyone has any extensive experience using bing cashback on a freshly posted BIN item.

Seems bing can't find item numbers, and e-bay items can take HOURS to show up in search, even within e-bay. I certainly don't want to lose the item to a lurker, the seller woudl have to cancel their bid, etc. but would really like to save the $100 bing cashback would bring on the deal.

As I also understand e-bay, BIN cannot be restricted to any pre-approved bidder list.

Cheers!

All you need to do is find the keyword that is setup for cashback that day. eg. a few days ago it was 'advent calendar'

Type that word into 'live' search, then find the sponsored eBay ad and click through to eBay. That activates your cashback for your eBay session.

Now you can search, and use buy it now on any item and get cashback. The cashback logo will show before you finalize your checkout to confirm it.

OR.....

In the spirit to help AK, you could click the link to e-bay at the bottom of any page on AK, and for every auction you win, a portion will go to AK for using the click through...

Yeah, but eBay's new affiliate rules have gotten very stingy, so he'd be much better off using Bing and donating half his savings to AK. A win-win as they both get more $$ :)

Just make sure Bing Cash Back shows up on your ebay page and you will be all set...Ive used it many times..works great...

as far as the cashback "keyword," almost anything generic that you can buy on eBay will trigger it, and those acceptable words don't change over time (perhaps there are some additional seasonal ones, though). the first one i read about was "lcd monitor," which has worked from day one. "xbox" is another one. but that's not Brutal's problem. he's wants to be able to nab something the second it becomes visible on eBay's search engine.

i think your best bet is to have the auction be scheduled to start at a time when eBay isn't very busy. late afternoon, early morning, very late at night, and make sure that you have at least an hour or two to sit by the computer, just in case. by scheduling the listing ahead of time, i'm pretty sure that you are less likely to have a long delay when the start time rolls around. i've had it take 20 minutes from the start time to show up in that scenario. also, the auction should be as inconspicuous as possible to pass through the filters as quickly as possible (i.e. enough details about the product, condition, returns, shipping, etc.). that last part could be my imagination, but it seems to make a difference.

If the issue is finding the item before it's indexed, and you know the person listing the item, then just sub. in the item number in the following URL.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320434429136&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

stellar! thanks for the tip. that doesn't help if the item is delayed pending some sort of "approval," which is the only explanation for why one of my items took 8-10 hours to show up, but it definitely takes care of the indexing problem.

I still don't follow. Bing won't find anything using an e-bay item number. It's rubbish for that...

To be elligible for cashback, the search must initiate from bing's page.

OK, I think I figured out what I'm doing wrong. If I initiate ANY search term and go to the sponsored link, I can then subsequently use OTHER searches within ebay as long as I complete it within their magical 60 minute window.
