Question about hooking up Oppo BD-103 to both TV and Stereo Receiver

Howdy--I just came into an Oppo BD-103 that I would like to use for both my TV setup (LG CX) for playing bluerays, and as a CD player for my receiver (Marantz 2285). The TV is not hooked up to the Marantz, as I have a Sonos sound bar and sub for home theatre sound and the Marantz is exlusivly for stereo music. I was wondering if I can connect the Oppo to the TV with HDMI for watching movies, while also having it hooked up to the Marantz with RCA cables for playing CDs. If both HDMI and RCA are connected at the same time, will the Oppo always be sending a signal through both? I don't want it to send sound to the TV if I am playing a CD, and likewise don't want it to send the movie sound to the Marantz. Any advice is appreciated?

Yes, you can do this, and the the instructions are in the manual. Confusingly, the marked page numbers don't match the PDF page numbers, but PDF page 20 tells you what to do. It will send signals out to HDMI and RCA at the same time, but it doesn't matter - that won't interfere with or damage anything. And you need to change some settings in the menu.

Why not?

If you're playing a CD, turn off the TV, or select a source input other than HDMI.

If you're playing a DVD, turn off the Marantz, or select a different source input.

VERY EFFING INTERESTING stumbling upon this thread post !!

I responded to this same/similar post request twice yesterday with over a decade of personal experience doing what the OP wishes to do with his OPPO Universal player (apparently in another seemingly duplicated requested information for experience in the OPPO multioutput connection scheme post)

Yet, both of my thread responses seem to be not present here, hence the suspicion of a OP duplicate post request on A/K !!

Most strange, and indeed puzzling !!

Well, the thread you responded to did start with a note that it was a cross-posting (admittedly, against forum rules, IIRC). And they did respond to, and thank you for your replies on that thread.

So I'm not sure where your time has been wasted.

I`m aware that the OP responded to my reply & thanks from his enquiry, hence my second reply !

Typing with one finger on the only hand that is functional is a unnatural communication effort, then unlike some folks on A/K, I actually go to the trouble to proof read before posting so that I don`t come off as "brain damaged, and or just effing lazy"as notated since joining the last day of July 2016 !
BTW. I don`t/ won`t use the "lazy inducing" voice to text app, provided in Win. 10`s OS, or any other third party version that`s available !

I as well as many others have been doing this for years rca cable don't know or care unlike HDMI so called smart cables
if you don;t want the signal to go to the off system simply use a 2 way switch box, for 20 or 30 dollars. They make many models some with many more input / outputs
