Question about recap kit for Dahlquist Dq 10

Hello all.
I just picked up an early set of Dahlquist Dq 10s from an estate sale. They were made before the mirror imaged versions and have the blue/gray bi polar caps on the crossover. I hooked them up to a Yamaha amp that I had sitting around that is rated at 95 wpc, and I was blown away! I've never heard anything like these, the imaging is unbelievable and I'm already certain that I'll never let these go. They will need a refoam, which I've done 5 or 6 times, so that should be quite easy to do, but I've also read that I should recap them. While I'm no pro, I've recapped a few turntables and these look like they'd be relatively easy to do. That said, I'm wondering if I could get some feedback on the kit I'm looking at on ebay...if I'm allowed to post this. They all look to be film caps, but I just want to be sure that there isn't a better set of kit that someone on here may recommend.

The PEACE.LOVE.AND.MUSIC ebay seller is legit. AKA Affinity for Artifacts ebay seller. You could probably assemble a set of caps cheaper through Parts Express, but if you don't mind spending more and having the assurance that you are getting a good product from a legit ebay seller then this seller is the way to go. I have bought kits from him/her in the past and I do not regret it.

I recapped a pair a couple years ago, here are three screenshots I took that were useful. I assembled the caps from DigiKey IIRC, the first screenshot was from another person, doing 2 pair of speakers (so its doubled).

I'm a former owner of DQ-10s from back in the day. A co-worker and I did our own mirror imaging and cap replacement back in the day. I got similar parts for free as samples. Good to see folks are still enjoying these speakers, they were way ahead of their time.

I'm sure it's fine either way, but I've never encountered an MPT that I thought sounded as good as (or better than) MKP. MPT<MKP and can be either polyester or polypropylene, whereas MKP is always polypropylene. I would recommend at least Audyn Q4, Cross-Cap, or Jantzen Standard-Z at minimum.

Hi Sinnerboy, I received my recap kit from ebay, and something is odd. I noticed that my board has an 8.2 cap in the c5 position, and nearly everything I find online shows a 6 or 6.2 in that position. Do you recall whether or not you had two 8.2 caps on each board?

Here's what I had.
C1 - 82uf
C2 - 16uf
C3 - 6.8uf
C4,C5 - 6.3uf
C6 - 8.2uf
C7 - .1 uf
C8 - .15uf

I ended up with those values by researching a lot, mostly on this site. I recall Dahlquist changed the capacitors as the years rolled by, both values could be correct (?)

Yes, values changed over the years. This can be dealt with by being close, OCD folks might go nuts but it is ok. Early units had electrolytics and these could vary, probably by 20%. Just doing both speakers the same helps.

In my research I’ve seen a number of different values. These could be from folks grabbing their own caps, Regnar listed is one set they provided to someone that rebuilt his units, not that they would always be the same. We are throwing hand grenades, not darts to hit the target. Quality parts matched sided to side and within the ranges should be all you need. Mine are that way and folks are amazed at the sound. Especially with high quality tube power. The borrows Marantz 8B really does a great job with them. Older document not showing the 82μF being used a lot these days.
