I am recapping an old Marantz 1050. In the last page of the service manual there is this message:
Transistors in the "A" column are the ones the amp currently has. It looks like the 1050 doesn't have any of the infamous transistors from the top ten worst transistors thread. Still this message says that in case of trouble "A" column ones should be replaced by the ones in the "B" column (which are probably pretty old too since this was printed in the 70s).
As far as I can tell, all transistors in the 1050 are: 2SA1039, 2SC2390, 2SC2235, 2SC1627A, 2SC817A, 2SD716, 2SD718, 2SB686, 2SB688, 2SA965 and 2SA817
Should I be preemptively replacing any of the transistors in the amp?
