question about tape switch boxes

I have a pioneer sx3700 and which has 2 tape monitor switches but with me having a bunch of equipment(pioneer sg9500,pioneer rg1,sansui ra500, and a sae5000) 2 tape monitors isn't cutting it. I've tried 2 switch boxes already (some brand I never heard of and a realistic 42-2105 I believe it was called) and using those boxes degraded the sound enough to where it was unacceptable to me. I was looking at one from niles audio model tsb 3 and was wondering if anyone around here has used one and what they thought of it or any other switch boxes that you would recommend, thanks!

I use the Radio Shack 42-2115. It has rotary switches rather than the toggle switches of the older box and doesn't degrade the signal at all. the toggle switches get dirty and need to be cleaned. that's why they degrade the signal.

Yup, another use for technician in a can.

Can't stress enough that cleanliness of all connections is paramount to avoid degrading the sound.

I did clean both boxes but it didn't improve much and to me they weren't worth getting checked out because I paid so little money for them that I didn't think it would be worth it. I think I am going to stay away from toggle switches for my next one I don't seem to be having the best of luck with them. :dunno:

Thanks for the suggestions. I actually came across the one I was checking out on ebay in my local thrift store and picked it up well see how this one works. If its a bust then I'm gonna try the radio shack oneScreenshot_20201129-101445_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20201129-101445_Chrome.jpg
