Question for/about Tidal streamers

I'm considering buying a dedicated streamer for Tidal and I know a bunch of them use phone apps to select music, etc. Has anyone run into a problem with android or Mac OS updates killing the streaming control app? I am concerned that if I invest in a streamer box, it could be rendered unusable by an OS update for the phone/tablet used to control it.

Never had any issues using my iPad, mainly because the Apple auto updates only happen very late at night. You can also turn off auto updates but then you'll have to initiate available updates manually. iPhones work the same way.

It's feasible that heavy traffic to your phone might interrupt a stream IF you were using a forwarding streaming method such as AirPlay or Bluetooth ...
but if you want optimal configuration for Tidal you would never use those streaming methods!
You would/should use a re-direction streaming method, and the best for Tidal is Tidal-Connect. This is supported on what I consider to be the major three streamers;
- WiiM
- Bluesound
- EverSolo

Looks like the OP was asking if phone OS updates would brick the control program.
I've not seem that with the Squeezebox Touch in way over a decade's usage or in the apps on my Android phone, iPad and PC...
I would not anticipate any problems with the WiiM Pro+ I bought this last Black Friday either.

Thanks for all the replies. I dug through the Tidal Connect app info it looks like it's OK with Android 7.0 and up. So it seems unlikely that an Android OS update is going to kill the app. I use LMS and a couple squeezeboxes and SqueezeliteX on a PC to play music now, including Tidal, but controlling Tidal with SqueezeCtrl on my phone is less than ideal.

I'm thinking of getting android tablet to run SqueezeCtrl and Tidal Connect as a remote control for music selection, displaying lyrics, etc., instead of using my phone. A lot of the cheaper tablets are running Ardroid 12 or 13, so already outdated. I wonder if a security update to Tidal or Tidal Connect might kill a tablet's ability to run it on older OSes.
