Question for Technics Linear owners and former owners.

They have to run at high speed in the runout area to keep up, which is why you get motor noise. Even my LT-30 did that a bit.
 
Thanks for all of the input everyone. I've found my turntable. On a whim today I stopped at a nearby pawn shop and found a very clean Technics Sl-D5 linear track TT with an Ortofon TM20 cartridge that looks and sounds great. Linear arm is smooth and the table runs quietly. Best of all, only $60.
