question on technics 8 track rs-858-US vs rs-858-DUS

I think the US lacks the selector switch, and i think the US has Blue VU Meters, Wheras, the DUS has Green VU Meters as shown. I think one also has a stronger "holding" mechanism for the cartridge as well. ive been looking for one of these for awhile, this one slipped by me.

someone correct me if im wrong about the difference between the 2 decks.

Try signing up at QuadraphonicQuad.com you would probably have better luck over there when it comes to Quad 8 Tracks. Some of those guys know 8 Track decks inside and out. Im a fan of the 8 Track format myself, but a lot of people on here hate the format with a passion. dont get me wrong, AK is an amazing site with many people willing to help you out with whatever they can, but for Q8 Tapes your best bet would be the QQ Forums.
 
Don't have answers either, but is those provisions for from and rear headphone jacks? If so that rules! I have a pair of quad headphones and that would make the footprint of a quad system dramatically smaller (Albeit with poor quad effect).
