Questions about Hickok 6000a

Hi, I have a Hickok 6000a and have a couple of questions. First question is when reading the scroll ( on say a 12au7) under the function and mut.cond. is the 2200 reading the tube as "new" ?
Second question is on the shunt adjustment there are 3 read dots, 3,000, 6,000, and 15,000. What do they relate to?

The answer to the first question is yes, the value (2,200) represents the average value for a new tube. The reject point would be 65% of this value (1,430). I should point out this is specifically for the Hickok 600 series family of testers (yours included).

Years ago there was an article written by Chris Haedt about testing the 12AU7 tube on various testers. In the article I recall reference to this family of testers and what the value in the roll chart represented. Unfortunately, I cannot find the article. Check the web and I sure you could find it.

I think the answer is clear from the above posts, but here's a summary (I have the same Hickok): You would set everything up for the 12AU7 as shown in the roll chart, but instead of setting Shunt to 75, you set it to the red dot at 3,000. Then you read micromhos on the 0-3000 scale and ignore the "Replace - Good" markings.
