Someone on the forum pointed out I needed to get my speakers off the ground, so I decided with all my free time I'd make a quick and dirty set of stands out of some old pine shelving I had laying around. I didn't really bother to fit them to my speakers and used my mitre saw rather than my table saw just to try out the basic design in my head. I glued, clamped and after 12hrs curing shot a few pin nails in each join. Surprisingly sturdy.
I think I'll go back later and make a nicer, more fitted set out of hardwood or furniture grade ply with pocket hole screws and mitered joins.
