Quick way to fix pushed in soft dome tweeters

So I removed the tweeters and woofers from my Fried Studio IV speakers and placed them in a place where my 2.5 year old son could reach them. Of course that was a mistake. I came back later to reinstall them and saw that he had pushed in the soft domes on the Hiquophon tweeters. Well I wasn't that happy about having to spend $280 for new tweeters, but I knew it was my fault...what two and a half year old could resist such a temptation.

Anyways, I thought about ways of repairing them and first thought of double stick tape, then using a vacuum. Well, I've got a pretty good vacuum stuck to my face in a pair of lips and a set of lungs, so I put my mouth around the dome and sucked. On my first try, the dome popped out and they look like new! Just thought I'd pass this little trick along in case anyone has a pushed in set of dome tweeters lying around.

I've seen that method used by the folks at Dali speakers on one of their youtube videos...actual engineers I think? If it's good enough for them then...

I'm surprised that they would not have simply popped out again. I have several soft domes that will return to their natural domed shape if pushed in. I would be very leery using a vacuum on it unless you could control the amount of suction power. Good idea to use your own suction power!

If the domes are soft and flexible then more often than not they will just pop out. It's more problematic when you're talking about metal, inflexible plastic or phenolic (although I suspect a phenolic dome would be pretty difficult to push in)..
