Quicksilver good deal?

I paid $100 more for mine with a dent in one of them, and I'd do it again in a heart beat.. really super sounding amps. Mine have been converted to the EL34 though, but I hear the 8417 is even better sounding.

Quicksilvers

I had a pair of those in the mid to late 90s. Bought them at Walt Bender's last Audiomart vintage audio show in Jersey. Great amps - better than many far more expensive units!! The 8417s have killer midrange!! (I'm now using their M-135 monos). Beware of those GE 8417s though - a long time ago I was told that there were issues with shorting/flashing in that version. The Philips 8417s are supposed to be far superior.

good deal-probably

You can check with Quicksilver -worst case - if the tubes are not up to snuff -I believe that Mike will still mod them for other output tubes - for this price -you pretty much can't go wrong.
Own a pair of the KT-88 mono amps -wonderful amps -great service from Mike.
