Quiex II Vinyl

I have a pressing of T-Bone Burnett's Proof Through the Night that has a sticker on it that says it is a "Quiex II Limited Edition Pressing".

Is Quiex II a good format? Is it something special or another record company gimmick?

Just wondering.

It's a good sign because the Quiex term represents an above average quality of vinyl. Quiex II may be an earlier formulation. The latest one is called Quiex SV.

Here's a little more from Classic Records' website:

What's all the Quiex About?

Classic Records, in our never ending efforts to bring Vinyl enthusiasts the best records in the universe, is introducing a new vinyl formulation to be called "Classic Quiex SV - Super Vinyl". After years of listening to different variations of vinyl formulas we are confident that Classic Quiex SV is noticeably superior to all previous vinyl formulas we have used. The music on records made using Classic Quiex SV is more detailed, has richer harmonics and a more precise soundstage presentation than when pressed on our previous formula. Beginning in September, all new Classic releases will be pressed exclusively on Classic Quiex SV and will have a sticker that identifies them as such. So, sit back, relax, enjoy the music, and remember the sound...
