QX949 / 2SC1451

Hey all!

Quick question.

Per some other 949 posts, MTF states that 2SC1451 should be replaced by KSC3503.

However, there are multiple HFE options for the KSC3503.

Does anyone know what the minimal HFE should be? I'm getting 84 on this batch of 3503s and the original 2SC1451 I pulled off the amp board measures 147.

only gain available is group D, 60 to 120.

group c is 40 to 80.

measuring a bunch of surviving 2sc1451's would be an eye opener....

it will do fine in this application. nailing down an absolute minimum Hfe isn't what you think it is.
Plus Hfe varies greatly with collector current. in E V E R Y transistor.
