R-2000 + L100 = good

Yesterday was my day off (I get to work today & tomorrow afternoon).
Hooked up the Yamaha R-2000 receiver to the JBL L100 FrankenCentury's (using newer JBL midranges, and 2213 woofers, the pro equivalent of the D123).
The Yamaha is, of course, extremely clean sounding. With 150 wpc and 3dB (per the owners manual) headroom, it is a powerful piece.
Was I ever taken away by the sound. A very 'comfortable' sound.
I was hearing a lot of detail. I was thrilled by bass riffs and drums. Vocals were nice, both guys and female vocalists. Guitars were so right.
In my environment these pieces are a great match.

That damm thing was just sitting there and you HAD to go and use it!!! No, you would not put it up for sale, You had to use it! Now ill never get my hands on it.! Thats ok I just bought another Trans Am. Had to have something to keep the GTO company...

It is a handsome piece, even if it does use digital tuning.
Way back when, I had a 68 Firebird 400 H.O. Thing could tear through tires in a hurry. Could push about 145 indicated.

The R-2000 is very typical Yamaha, at least from my experience with the brand.
Silver-faced, with a look of understated refinement. It is very much an iron-fist in a silk glove. TOTL, with 150 wpc, and, as I discovered perusing the small print in the owners manual, capable of 3dB headroom.
The past couple of days has really been my first extended playing the R-2000. When I got it, I already had four large receivers and two very large separates systems crowded into the living room.
Man oh man, coupled with the L100's, the sound is full, solid and detailed. With the R-2000, the JBL's sound very accurate.
Very easy to listen to, too.
For some quality sound, I can recommend the R series, and I suspect (because they are 'digital') they might be had for reasonable cost (unlike mine, that I probably overpaid for, but not from a performance standard).

Please don't, Echo, I couldn't bear it. It was essentially the same equipment and engine as the 69 Trans Am-- no head rests/restraints and the paint scheme the only real difference. Poor thing got rear-ended by a 58 Ford. No contest. Ouch.
