Radford custom S360 reference loudspeaker system
This speaker system is unique and is constructed from the Radford S360 design (Radford Acoustics Ltd. Bristol, England). This modular 4-piece floor-standing 3-way speaker system features 20 Radford drivers per side (40 total) is to my knowledge, the only one of its kind every constructed. The Radford international reputation for advanced design, painstaking engineering, first class performance, maximum reliability and outstanding performance has been shown in their amplifiers, tuners and speakers. This system is said to be the Rolls-Royce of loudspeaker kits and is the result of years of considerable development.
SUBWOOFERS. Two subwoofer modules, each with four 12" Radford bass drivers 8 totally (type BD25/1, specification is similar to the KEF B139 and heavy voice coils on diecast aluminum formers).
125lb each internally-braced folded transmission-line cabinet constructed with 48 pound-density fiberboard. Dimensions 51"x18"x13".
MIDRANGE AND HIGH FREQUENCIES. Two midrange/tweeter modules each with eight Radford MD6/1, 2" soft-dome midrange units, eight 1" Radford TD3/4 (4ohm) tweeters and eight drive-unit mounting plates (16 of each totally).
The coherent line-source array design with high power handling and low transient distortion, was adapted from the classic Infinity Reference System design. Cherry-stained pine and redwood cabinetry.
Dimensions 65"x13". Weight 75 lbs each.
Two Radford FN12B S360 crossover networks (500 and 500 Hz) with air core inductors and Chateauroux capacitors. Impedance 8 ohms. Silver solder and monster cable wiring.
