An orphaned Radio Shack Optimus "Pro X77" minispeaker has found its way into my basement. See page 96 of http://www.radioshackcatalogs.com/catalogs/1997/
This speaker includes the "monopole" verion of the "Lineaum" tweeter used under license by R/S for a few years.
I recall that these tweeters are said to be somewhat fragile. I tested this speaker last night half-expecting the tweeter to be bjorked. Indeed, HF output of the tweeter was low... but there is sound coming from it.
My question: is this a typical failure mode of these tweeters (reduced output vs. complete loss of output), or perhaps some other pathology (XO issue)?
