Railroad Insulators.....

So I stopped at the Broadway Antiques Mall on my way out of town.... and in the back one of the vendors had a Red Flyer wagon full of Insulators. I grabbed a dozen blue ones, the vast majority of them were clear glass and of the smaller variety than the ones I bought.

I paid $2 apiece for them (plus Enid, OK sales tax :))

Cool ... good price too!

I know a dude has a bunch of those on a mirrored shelf with LEDs under each one. Real neat display it is - definitely an eye catcher.
 
Heck....

Interstate ten (I-10) near El Paso has old power poles still up with loads of those insulators still attached. Probably even more between El Paso and Odessa. There is a rocket testing facility just west of El Paso that has access roads still lined with old power poles. The insulators were the same color.
