RAM Audio

When my company Qysonic Research was exhibiting at CES Chicago back in the late 1970s, we shared exhibit space with Richard Majestic (sp?), the chief engineer and president of RAM Audio. He had a line of incredible Class AB power amplifiers and low feedback preamplifiers. At one time, I had one of his small power amps (one output device per phase), which was very clean and powerful. I have no idea what happened to Richard and his company, but if anyone else remebers RAM Audio, knows if it still exists (under a different name, or if Richard ended up working for another company), or if they know of any RAM Audio equipment that may be available, please post.
Thanks!

Thank you very much. It seems that that is the same Mr. Majestic. I will try to contact him and see if he remembers...

Sound-Smith

Not sure about Mr. Majestic, but Peter Lederman, President of Sound-Smith, once worked at RAM, and designed some of thier gear. He has an amp on display, probably invisibly joined at the hip.

Great guy, great restorations, great products.

That's crazy! I just got on AK to see if anyone knew anything about RAM audio systems and it's at the top of the thread list. LOL I just picked up a preamplifier for free model RAM 200 and is has great phono section options. I cleaned it up a bit and turned it on an haven't used it yet.

Oh, just read a tread when doing a search for "RAM" and Peter Ledermann of Soundsmith was talking about working with "Mr. Majestic" at RAM.

I ran across a 512 Ram amp and could find no information on it, after much searching I found Peter Ledermann.
He can be found at Peter@sound-smith.com
While at RAM Audio, he was responsible for the production engineering of high-end power amplifiers, preamplifiers, and a strain-gauge phono pickup system.

I emailed Peter and to my pleasant surprise he personally called me up.
It really impressed me that a man with all his accomplishments took time to call someone that had a question about one of his 35-40yr. old amplifiers
NOW THAT"S CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
If I EVER need high end audio or repair.I will be contacting(http://www.sound-smith.com/)

if you still have the Ram 200 and want to sell or trade let me know

I just came in possession of a RAM 200 Preamplifier today, its different. Have not hooked it up yet

I just found this RAM 512 amp at an antique mall for $175. It's in mint condition and sounded very good thru the stores demo setup. 200 watts. I'm looking forward to getting it home from Cincinnati to Florida and trying it in my music room.
