Looking at a few options for a spring project. A couple of questions?
MC2120 , Does it have same family sound signature as say, a MC250, 2100?
Are replacement chassis available from anywhere (or does anyone know of, restoring) MC250 or MC2100 chassis?

To my ears the MC2125 (metered version of MC2120) performs every bit as good as any properly functioning McIntosh amplifier should. In my own A/B comparisons between an MC2505 & MC2125, any audible differences between the two are certainly way beyond my ability to discern, if at all. Naturally a significant advantage of the MC2125/MC2120 over the earlier generation models is Power Guard.

While a number of repro chassis exist for vintage Mc tube models, I don't recall seeing any being offered for the SS amplifier models on the older "tube style" chassis.

That helps a bit. I'm eyeing some pieces in need of some TLC but that's what projects are about.
