Tell us how that goes for you! Do you use the autofocus, have the lenses together with a ring, and what sorts of working distances are you using? I need to try some more and crack that manual out.
 
Actually I can't take credit for my photos. The ones I posted the other day are from a microscope that can take photos of the samples. I used my 80mm lens as a jewelers loupe to help in cleaning the stylus. It worked great, I'm posting the "after" pics on my original thread. I will try your method but my lenses are only an 80mm and a 50mm. I'm not sure I can get the same good results that you got.
