Rare Friday night Sansui

:beer:Friday night and nothing going on, the work week is fading from the mind…24 ounce Fosters ale is nearly gone, and the Sansui sound sooo-sweet. Cold winter night with more snow to come, tunes are incredible, not too loud, but just right…..nothing like a warm Sansui to make it all right.

Anyone ever had one of those rare Friday Sansui nights where the FM tunes are perfect?

Friday night is the only time I listen to radio in these parts. Have a good one.

Oh yeah. Sounds real sweet. I was about to switch out my 2000A for my Fisher CA-271 with FM-271 tuner, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. The old Sansui just looks so cozy.

:yes:

Tonight will be 107.7 the Bone, Metal Zone, on the Sansui Eight Deluxe and Synergistic speakers.

The AU/TU-719 get a rest this Friday, because the wife is sick and the bedroom is closer to the 719's.

And the beer for tonight is Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA.

..For the moment I'm thinking about climbing on the Rooftop to install a new FM-antenna - wonder , how many Stations shorty will be able to catch...:D

...BTW : the Beer is ,,Veltins Pils''....

Gotcha on every level except the FM part. Substitute vinyl. Although last night was not an example of this [from my Oh Crap! thread];

It looks like I damaged the base of the cantilever on the conical stylus that I just bought. When I was putting together the stylus/cart/headshell last week I realised that I connected the 4 wires incorrectly and then I proceeded to fix them. I forgot to remove the stylus and I accidentally pushed down on it with my thumb. It looked ok and I played a bunch of records that all sounded great. Fast forward to today. I bought one of those Magic Erasers and dipped the stylus into it a few times as described here. I then removed the headshell to have a look at the stylus with a magnifying glass. That's when I discovered the damage. At the base of the cantilever the black casing was missing a piece on one side and the cantilever was crooked from the lack of support. I played a record and it sounded fine but I'm not taking any chances. I had a nice stack of mono lps to play overnight but oh well, I guess not. I ordered a proper Audio Technica replacement from Needle Doctor. This broken stylus was a $12 aftermarket.

Turned out it wasn't the Eight Deluxe's turn. It was the AU-G99X, TU-X301i, and RSL Elans.:yes:

The AU-G99X is one good sounding integrated. It is one of my favorites. To my so so ears, sounds similar to the AU-919 or the C/B2101 combo. Somehow it doesn't get the respect of the older AU's but then that's why we need a collection, no? :D

Happy listening to everyone:music:,

Friday night Sansui. A warmed-up Au9500, some Abbey Ale and some Etta James singing the songs of Billy Holliday. RIP, Etta.
