This is coming up for auction near me, along with some other nice gear, including a MAC4100 and a Fisher 400, plus many other radio pieces.

Are any of you familiar with the Golden Ear amp that is listed? Where does it fall in the echelon of gear? What might it go for? It's a very unique design visually, does it have the sound to match?

That`s a tough call, I have never heard of it, looks almost kit type, Iron looks good, Painted Dynaco`s maybe. but it looks mono PP but I suppose it could be single ended stereo.
I once looked at a single mono 6L6 type amp with big iron, It was a nice looking amp with point to point wiring and chrome chassis and only a couple hundred but I couldnt find the manufactures name anywhere online...Not a shred of information so I left it, I`m a stereo kind of guy.
My guess it is worth a couple hundred, I might buy it for 150 or less.

Well no good if not stereo... I'm going anyways to see how the MAC4100 sells and maybe pick up a tube for my Grant Fidelity Tube-DAC11....

Best of luck on that auction, I hope you can get something great for a song. Those Auctionzip deals are a crap-shoot, at least my experience has been, anyway. The fact that it seems to be geared toward mostly Ham gear, might work in your favor though. I remember one of the first "scores" I found on there was in OH. It was a whole bunch of general estate crap, and then like six boxes of NOS Altec stuff. I figured it might slip under the radar... ended up selling for upwards of $6700, IIRC.
