Rare Magnificent Magnavox 289H?

For several years I've owned a ca. 1957 Magnavox model 289H, and am finally getting around to electronically restoring it. The model number appears on a small sticker about the size of a pair of small postage stamps, on an interior cabinet wall. It has the bi-amp with the eight 6V6s and predating Magnavox' stereo offerings, is monophonic. It looks almost identical to the Berkshire of similar vintage, the most notable differences being that in addition to the reverse painted glass top sliding panels there's no record compartment, just more speaker grille area with a diagonally mounted additional horn speaker. There's a clock with timer, and external speaker selector switch in the partitioned section where the glass panels overlap. I have been totally unable to locate ANY information on this model with a pretty deep on line search, and open AI also seems to have anything specific to say about this model. Anyone out there have another, or any information at all about this variant?

Thanks everyone for your replies. Mark, three photos of the interior. Only 23 screws to remove the heavy back panel. What I was really hoping to find was ANY images of original Magnavox literature that shows and describes this model, or rarer than the console itself, an original instruction booklet for this specific one. Beyond that I would be most interested to know if anyone who manages to catch this thread has an identical unit. Trying to get some kind of frame of reference for where it falls in the common-to-rare continuum. Andy

There should be some potentially good info here in this dedicated Magnavox console thread, fair warning it's long but worth taking ones time to go through

This is odd, per OEM 1957 Magnavox catalog/brochure this is what they show as a model "289H", looks a lot different then yours though

See post #7

Edit: comparing the 2 again I'm not sure why I wrote they look "a lot different"

Could it be a homemade cabinet? There's just parts that don't look quite factory. Definitely doesn't look anything like inside my biamped imperial...

I can only think more power. The Concert grand is an 80 watt console and I believe it was the biggest and best one they made.

The 8201 is what, stereo bi amp with a 10 wpc bass amp and a 3wpc treble amp? The big amp is PPP 6v6 for bass an PP for treble so ballpark 30 watts on the bass and 10 on the high side per channel.

Many thanks,

Evidently, what I have turns out to be the 1957 Aspen model. The link to the post #7 was truly helpful and very much appreciated. Thank you!

Going forward what are your intentions for this unit?
Unsure at the moment. It would be interesting to repair and restore the automatic clock timer function. From the brochure you brought to my attention, it could be used to turn on the radio or phonograph at a pre-programmed time. Pretty cool idea for the day.
