Raspberry Pi 4 Announced

Looks like it is an upgrade in several areas. Not sure it will be compatible with earlier generation cases as the power inlet has changed slightly as well as the HDMI placement/configuration. If I used my current RPi (a 3B+ with an Allo DigiOne HAT) for more than a Squeezebox server/player clone, the improvements would seem to be more impactful. For my use case the USB 3 ports would be nice as I have my music attached via a removable drive, but in actual use I haven't really noticed much if any lag moving files from my computer to the Pi-attached drive over my network (much faster than moving them to my backup drive which is also network enabled).

If my case manufacturer (Allo) produces a case that is compatible with the 4 (and my DigiOne), I may make the move just to future proof my setup. And, other than a little cash, there's no penalty for more horsepower under the hood :)

wont be compatible with last gen cases which is not a biggie in grand sceme of things, but it will be comparible with virtually all hats and externtion boards through backwards compatible GPIO which is very nice
think about all those audiophoile DACS and players that would works with the new hardware making DSD and MQA support possible in theory (in the cases that they werent possible due to hardware and memory militations). very nice.
