Raytheon 7729 tubes... need feedback on this pair

Hi all,

(See below pics posted in 2nd post)

Below is the link to these Raytheon 7729 pair of tubes I bought on ebay. Before I had them shipped, the Seller was able to send me side by side pics of these tubes next to another Raytheon 7729 gold pin tube same class to prove they are Raythoen 7729's. The issue was that you could not see "7729" anywhere on the tubes and was probably covered up by the Leeds and Northrop sticker circling each tube. the side by side photos proved they are a version of the Raytheon 7729 with gold pins, small grey plates, small Halo getter.

I bought these as they are similar in design to a pair of Raytheon JRP 12AX7's with short grey plates and Halo getters that I like the sound of.

Do any of you recognize these as Raytheon 7729 tubes? There aren't any photos online of this class of Raytheon 7729's with gold pins..

the Seller has a good return policy. But, I would like these to be a true 7729 before I open the Ebay box when it arrives.

Unfortunate it is that the Raytheon number is covered and perhaps nonexistant? Raytheon is very consistent with their tube designation, so if it is indeed a 7729 that would be a yellow painted number.

I would check the other Raytheon 7729 tubes on epay. The only one I could find good photos of has 7729 etched in the glass where the tubes in your auction have BEBA. Personally, I think it is a gutsy move to spend $300 on an auction like that. 12AX7 tubes are not hard to find and the JJ ECC83S is supposed to be excellent.
