RCA cable colors

Hi! Im a newbie and have a few questions about my Dual cs601 turntable. The phono output is a black and red RCA cable. I have a preamp with Red and white RCA-phono input but i have no Idea what color should be in the input. I think (obviously) red-output in the red-input + black-outoput in the white-input. But online ive seen that black and red are always for the right audio input. Maybe you guys can help me before i make some mistakes!

I have a good pair of active speakers with RCA input. So after the preamp i Will connect Them to the active speakers

Connect the red cable to the red input and the black to the white. Even if you reverse them all you will do is switch the left and right channels.

RED = Right. That's how I remember it.

I don't think there were any standardized colors until the advent of home video equipment, when it became necessary to distinguish between audio and video connections. I have several vintage stereo RCA audio cables where the plugs are gray and black, or even both the same color! If you wanted to check the left and right channels to make sure they were correct, that's what a test record was for:

That's true internationally -- even in Canada, red = liberal, blue = conservative. But for some reason in the USA, those two colors are switched.

And - if you're a boater - one of the first things you learn is "Red Right Return".

I have a funny Y-cable with white and red on one end and yellow on another. I don't care, but when used along with composite video cable it starts looking a bit disorderly

I associate port with left because of the four letters, plus port wine is red.

Just remember that, on "Hello, I Love You", The distorted guitar is on the right and the harpsichord is on the left. Simple.

Except with bicycle pedals. Right is right but left is also right.

They used to switch, but the democrats pulled a move and kept blue. They don't like being red because of the association with Communism.

Red is right in audio land for me for sources, and writing or ridge on the cable is negative, as is black. White, red, and smooth are positive for speakers.
