RCA console amp RS193D...

Makes sense, regarding teh treble control, but the bass pots have a lot of range,,, flat to thumping... Have to see if I can adopt his wisdom to this amp...

On the schematic, is that a PEC device in the dotted lines. This could be the problem with the bass control being so sensitive but that is just an educated guess. :yes:

Yep,,, One of the reasons I was originally thinking of just strippin it for teh OPTs,,, then I listened to it, and here we are sorting it out, as it originally was!!!!
I'll check the rest of the resistors, I rebuilt the PS, and all the caps...
