Just got back in from the local thrift with a nice haul of vintage RCA "shaded dogs". Some really great Ormandy, Toscanini, and von Kliburn records to take a listen to. I'm not really a classical head, but some of the RCA LM-xxxx records I've bought in the past sound just so amazing that I couldn't pass these up.

oh yeah, especially the Heifetz on violin...mono is a special sound, especially in small ensemble/solo instrument...good thing you did there!
 
Agreed, I've got a good number of vintage mono albums, some of which, IMO are better than the later stereo versions of the same recording.
