Re-capping Technics SL-Q3 question

Good Afternoon!

I've recently acquired a Technics SL-Q3 and I want to replace the capacitors because it would be a fun project and for peace of mind. According to the schematics, C205 is showing it should be 10uf 16v but I found on C205 on the board is 220uf 6.3v, which is odd because every single capacitor values has matched the schematics and what has been soldered on the board except for C205. As far as I can tell this is original and nothing has been replaced. Should I follow the schematics? or replace the capacitor with the same value?

So far the only problem that I'm finding is it appears the left channel is louder than the right. I have deoxit the speed and replaced any black grease with super lube synthetic grease.

I don't know about the capacitance but 6.3v is odd. It seems low. Are any of the other capacitors rated at 6.3? If not, as in all are higher, I would be especially suspicious.

Generally speaking when replacing parts using a higher voltage rating is considered fine as long as the capacitance is matched. Lower is a no-no.
 
It's the only one that is at 6.3v. It is very odd especially since it's the only one that doesn't match the schematics for capacitance and voltage.
 
I think it must have been a Friday afternoon build. In other words a mistake.

I think I would replace it according to the Service Manual.
 
Will do. I did end up buying a replacement for that 220uf cap in addition to the correct one as per the schematics just in case the turntable needs the 220uf for some reason.

Hey there. What did you end up doing regarding the C205 capacitor on the board vs the schematic? I discovered the same discrepancy when servicing mine.
 
I first went with the schematics and the platters speed was really off, I then put in what was on the board and the speed was dead on. There must have been a revision on the floor during production and the schematics were never updated. So ultimately I went with what was installed.
