A number of years ago I picked up a stash of equipment that included a pair of Acurus 200x3 power amps. They were rewired to allowing each of the the three power amp channels wired back to one RCA input. The previous owner then used one 3 channel amp for each B&W 800 Matrix speaker, tri-amping to high, mid, low. Basically each amp is used as a mono block but utilizing all three amps in each 200x3.
My question: Is this a proper modification? Any loading issues to any part of the amp or to the pre-amp? I used the amps briefly but due to lack of speaker cables I switched to using an Aragon 4004 MK2 but thinking of giving these another try and tri-amping the 800’s.
