Realistic Mach One and Two woofers interchangeable?

In particular 40-4024a Mach One woofer.

I understand they look different and the Mach Two woofer has a little more cone area.

But if in a pinch, if I were to mix and match these two woofers would there be any sonic trade-offs?

For example, a pair of the 40-4024a Mach One....one with the factory woofer and the other with the Mach Two woofer.

Well it couldn't likely make it any worse of a speaker. ;)
 
The two woofers certainly look different, and the two loudspeakers certainly sound different.
The Mach One enclosure is so small -- I cannot imagine it would improve the performance of the Mach Two's woofer to stuff one into the former.

The Mach Two isn't a half-bad loudspeaker to my ears & taste -- much, much (much) better than the Mach One (which is pretty dreadful, again relative to my ears & taste).

Well, the Mach One is sealed and the Mach Two is ported, so that's a significant difference right there. In addition, the suspension on the Mach II is pretty loose, while IIRC the suspension on the Mach One is more heavily damped (although that could be due to the enclosure, I suppose - I've never owned a Mach One or its woofer).
 
Videolady and some of the other Realistic gurus said, in the long mach one thread, that the mach two woofer would be fine in the mach one enclosure. They are basically the same woofer.

I was largely wondering how they would mix and match though and wether or not anyone actually tried it.
