Realistic Mach One's $150... steal or no steal?

I saw that set as well. Mach One's are speakers that can bring anywhere from 50.00 and up. Never seen them go for 500.00. If they had new surrounds already I might have jumped on them, but I'd have to pay someone to do them.

It looks like they've been listed for a month, so you could probably get them for less. I'd probably be a buyer at $75 and would maybe go to $100 if the cabinets are really nice. Great rock n roll speakers.

Cones look a bit scuffed up though and the voice coils can get tweaked by those heavy cones especially if they were in use when the surrounds started to fail. I think Parts Express has replacement woofers just for the Mach I's last time I was browsing there if they are toast.

Not a steal... I've seen pairs needing foams exchange hands for about $100 on Ebay. Good working pairs have gone for $150 to $300 with a few outliers.

The Mach Ones are easily worth $100 if you like rock, or anything else that drives big bass. If jazz, soft accoustics or transparent vocals are your thing, not so much.

If it was me I'd go upscale just a bit and find a pair of Klipsch Kg 4 or 4.2.

Well those Focals are actually mine. And I've had 3-4 "interested parties" who I then never hear from again. So.... apparently not a good enough price for the local clueless...

Well it's not just local-- I also have them listed on US Audio Mart, and here was a message I received Saturday from an "interested party":



So I call--and CALL-- and try to email him back-- no response and his phone clicks over to a "voice mailbox that has not been set up yet." So I finally try calling today, he answers, I say that I am the seller of the Focal speakers, and... he immediately hangs up on me.

Look TIM, if you aren't serious about it, DON'T WASTE MY TIME. Effing douchebag.
