Realistic Minimus 21 on Craigslist for $10- Should I do it?

I found a pair of Realistic 21s on Craigslist for $10, and they are in pretty good shape- should I buy these or a pair of JBL 2500s for sale by the same seller for $40? I really don't know. I have the $40 and $10 to spend, but which one is better? I like the compact size of the Realistics, but I want to own at least one JBL (not for bragging purposes, lol). So, does anybody have an answer?

If they are the ones with the single driver, I would pass. Though I have never owned a pair, I can't imagine they would be all that great. If they are the ones with the funky tweeter, I would grab them just to play with.

FWIW, I quickly sold the JBL 2500's I had. I have a pair of 2600's in my garage and they have much better bass. I would differently recommend them over the 2500's.

Thanks =) I will really consider buying the 2600's, but I don't need alot of bass so I'll think about it. And I don't think the Minimus 21's will sound good either, so I will pass those up too.

The 2500's frequency response is 90hz-23khz, the 2600's 60hz-23khz. I found that the 2500's where simply missing some of the lower notes. It's not like the 2600's are a boom box but the extra 30hz filled out the lower ended better.

Heck, if the same seller for both sets of speakers, audition them both, and let your ears decide.

UPDATE: I have decided to NOT go with any of them, as I have found some Baby Advents that I will most likely get instead. Thanks for all of your replies, they really helped. But does anyone have any opinions on the Baby Advent originals? (yes, I am now becoming an audiophile)

The Advents probably need refoamed, unless they were already done.

The JBL 2500 fail to impress me, I paid $5 for mine, totally worth that price. :)
