realistic minimus-21

[Amcrebelfan]

Looks like a speaker for a car stereo.

I feel you on this one, reminds me of the old 70's pioneer 6x9's. I do like the look of it, pretty wild. I have never seen one before. :scratch2:

Unexpectedly ran into some new info today. Figured I'd post it here; probably one of the few or only thread featuring this odd little speaker.
When this thread ran almost 9 years ago all found references to Minimus-21 suggested a 1983 time frame. Now I find it featured in a 1980/1981 Tandy U.K. catalogue posted on radioshackcatalogs.com.
The ad copy doesn't declare it "New for 1981." So this model was hatched in 1980 at latest. Which puts it awfully close to, if not contemporary with, the launch of Minimus-7 itself.

This speaker is featured in an amusing gaffe earlier in this same catalogue where it's misidentified as "Minimus-11" in both the System Eleven 'Plus' and System Seven/Eleven 'Plus' bundled packages:

Stuff happens.

I went through the 79-90 RS American catalogs and could not find the M 21s. But I did find German and English like the above. I wonder if it was Europe only? And I love any excuse to go through the catalogs!
