Realistic Optimus 5 tweeter substitute

In recent week I have done some extensive research about replacing 0705Ac - 4 ohm tweeters.
I don`t want to invest too much money in replacing existing tweeters (planning to upgrade caps), so I was wondering if I could use original VIFA 6 ohm tweeters, leftovers from my old Paradigm speakers. I couldn`t find any info how to solve this issue. Pic below shows crossover schematics.
Can I simply change 6.8 uF capacitor with some other value and get same/similar result as the original 4 ohm/6.8 uF setup?

Or use a resistor in parallel to lower speaker impedance? Forgot to mention that I also have some spare VIFA 8 ohm tweeters so in theory I could use 8 ohm resistor in parallel to get 4 ohm output.....

Any info would be much appreciated!

It would be best to just get some 4 ohm tweeters. Maybe something like a soft dome. Doped cloth, silk, etc. I'm not a big fan of mylar or metal domes though. The soft domes tend to be smoother and still be very detailed soumding.
I'm still on the lookout for a pair of Nova 8B's or Optimus 5B's myself.
If I find a decent pair locally my plan was to replace the tweeter with a soft dome. The paper cone tweeters used in these two models are suppos3d to be pretty decent, but I would like to at leased tey a soft dome. Most of my speakers now have them.

But, these days when I opened them in order to replace capacitors I found out that all high/mid potentiometers on the back plate were not clean and actually I found out that there was bad connection, all mid speakers are ok, just 2 tweeters are gone.
I am still on the fence whether to invest in Dayton Audio polarized film caps but 33 uF is quite expensive so replacing all caps and tweeters plus initial cost would bring the total price more than I can find a pair locally in good working condition.
Or just put some bi-polar cheap caps and get new tweeters.
I found some original tweeters but the price+shipping is ridiculous, doesn`t make any sense.

Aso, not sure if these are worth buying, only CAD$23 a pair

I don't know that brand, but the price is decent. Dayton may have some around the same price.

I used these Peerless by Tymphany -BC25TG15-04-1-Silk-Dome-Tweeters , they fit with very little modification and sound very nice.
Parts Express doesn't stock the 4 ohm version anymore but I found them on the Bay.

I would think you'll be fine with regular bi-polar electrolytic capacitors , both of my sets of Op'5s have them good old grey Elna capacitors and after being fed a signal - music for a bit they woke right up , I can't see any reason to replace them with polypropylene capacitors the speakers sound real sweet just like they are.

As mentioned in my previous posts, this doesn`t make much sense spending US$50 (shipping to Canada is $15) for one tweeter.
I can find a pair of 5B for as little as CAD$75-100 which is mare US$55-70 for good working condition speakers

Did you replace caps?
I found something very weird yesterday when I was replacing caps (some cheap bi-polars), on the schematics mid cap is supposed to be 3.3uF but in my crossover both mid and tweeter caps were the same 6.8uF. Everything looked intact/original but I am not sure if someone was already messing around with the crossover. I put 3.3uF as per schematics.
Didn`t notice much difference, but I still have to test it properly as I was listening to the radio - not great sound quality.

Changes could have been made along the way by the manufacturer.
I alwa6w go by what I find over the schematic, IF it's a factory change.

Did you replace caps?

No , I started with 4 speakers , the tweeters were all toasted (among other problems) so I used the 2 that had a working woofer and midranges, softened the surrounds on the woofers with D.O.T.3 brake fluid and put a midrange in place of the tweeter and played/ran them for a while.

I thought "these sound pretty good" that prompted me to search out a tweeter that would work (I like the smoothness of silk dome tweeters) and fit.

I put the Peerless/Tymphany tweeters in the 2 speakers I had working and thought "wow these sound fantastic , I eventually got the other 2 speaker's issues worked out and put Peerless/Tymphany's in them also, ran them for a while to let the caps wake up and they sounded just as nice as the first set I fixed up.

I didn't any reason to change out the capacitors in them, they sounded perfect .
