I have a Realistic STA-18 receiver I was given by a friend that I'd like to repair. The transistors in the amp board are T1S92's, T1S93's, and T1S97's. Would it be a bad idea to replace these with KSA1845's, KSA992's, and KSA1845's respectively? Are the any better modern replacements for these transistors?

The TIS92 and TIS97 are NPN transistors. You can not replace them by PNP transistors… All the KSAxxxx are PNP transistors.
The TIS92 is a NPN driver transistor. Replace by KSC2383
The TIS93 is a PNP driver transistor. replace by KSA1013
The TIS97 is a low level NPN transistor in the preamplifier stage. Replace by KSC1845 or KSC1815.

You are correct! I was running off memory, but meant to say a KSC1845.

Love this site! I have the Realistic STA-18 on my bench right now. After recapping it I found that I had a bad volume pot that needed to be replaced. That has been replaced and this little receiver is sounding great.
I do have some floor level noise I would describe as a low hiss that goes up/down with the volume. This is how I ended up on your thread. I suspected the TIS97 was noisy and was looking for a suitable replacement. I have some KSC1845 on hand, I will try to find a closely matched pair and replace them to see if the situation improves.
I was curious as to why you were looking to replace these though. I did not see them on the known noisy transistor list, which is why I did not replace them when I did the recap. Were you experiencing a similar floor noise or other issue? Or, were you just replacing them as a preventive measure?

The amp I have won’t even make a sound, so i figured I’d go through the amp while I have it open. Just trying to avoid having it back on my bench next year!
