Realistic STA-2000D pre-out question, Help please.

Hello all,
I have a question about the receiver. It has pre-outs to go to a amp BUT, in the owners manual it states the following:
"Note: the receivers volume, balance, and tone controls are all in the circuit in front of the pre out jacks thus, any external equipment you connect between these two Jacks should have its own volume control."

If the volume control is upstream of the pre-out then why couldn't I use that volume knob to control the amp? I don't get what the 'Note" is really saying.

That doesn't make sense...think the technical writer missed up. Best to test with another receiver, integrated or amp with gain control to verify.

I thought the same, typo. And the manual does state "printed in Japan" at the bottom of the last page for what it is worth. I do not have the receiver yet. I was doing research before I reached out to buy it. I did not want to buy it if I could not use it with the other equipment I have. I was hoping someone had personal experience and could verify or debunk the "Note" statement. Thanks for the reply.

Solved the Realistic pre-out issue, got another Kenwood to go with my Super Eleven. Got a KR-9600 for $200 at an estate auction. problem solved!!!

It sounds like he was talking about the tape outs but he still serewed it up. The contrirols are are AFTER the tape outs. You just missed out on a great receiver.

Not sure who the "he" it is your referring to unless it was the writer of the owners manual that I quoted. I do not see getting a KR-9600 for $200 missing out.?.? They sell for $600+ from what I have been seeing. They wanted the same money for the Realistic.

Since you insist on being pedantic, the "he" referred to the person who wrote the manual. To whom did you think I was referring? Granted, I didn't check between the authors legs, but I just made a wild guess.

And yes, it is a great receiver. I don't see where you initially made any reference to any particular kenood receiver, nor did I see any prices mentioned.

If you want more detailed answers, you might want to include more details instead of assumng we all know what's going on in your head. So, do you want to rethink your wise-ass attitude? Oh, welcome to AK. You seem to be getting off to an auspicious start.

It was not a "wise-ass attitude" I was displaying. I was asking a real question based on your lack of reference details (that was being wise-assed see the difference? Oh, there I go again). You could have been referring to the person selling the receiver, since you did not specify I asked. Sounds like you are personalizing. Look in post #4 I mentioned Kenwood receiver type and price. Sorry you got your feathers ruffled.

Please note that in your first post you specifically mentioned the owners manual. Where did you get the idea I was referring to the seller?

And, price notwithstanding, that Realistic is a great receiver.

I agree the Realistic is a nice receiver and I agree not at the same price as the KR-9600. Where I got the idea from was the same place you got the ides to refer to the manual as a he. This is exactly why calcification questions are a must when communication electronically. Miscommunications/misunderstandings are inherent in this medium without them. That is why I asked. Also I love that you went back and edited post #7 to make it look like you are the victim in all of this. Classic online communication manipulation at its best. You are not the only one done here, at least replying to you.

What I have seen is AK is AWESOMME!!! I have gotten a TON of great information from here for a long time and really appreciate the insight and input from the folks here.
