Realistic STA 2000D really that heavy in the bass??

I have read a number of posts saying the Realistic STA 2000D is very nice but also very heavy and a little muddy in the bass. Is this an accurate description?? Thanks,KG

Most of the bigger receivers that Radio Shack put out durring that time are considered a little tubby sounding. I have the STA 2100, 2100D, and 2300, all have a similar bass sound, but thats why they make the bass and treble adjustments. Every person has their own sound they like, if a receiver sounds too strong on the bass, then adjust it. I like the big RS stuff, don't let anyone talk you out of it without giving it a listen. :thmbsp:

To my ears, the 2100 is more tubbier than the 2000. It is not too bad when the loudness is not used. I guess they designed it that way for their Mach One series speaker.
