I'm an interested & enthusiastic novice when it comes to electronics but my knowledge is basic to say the least, hence why iv'e posted here in the hope you guys will help me through this issue and hopefully i'll learn along the way.
Iv'e been restoring this receiver, so far all switches and pots cleaned with deoxit & faderlube, the power supply, protection board and main amp boards have been recapped by following a restoration thread on AK.
Upon completing each board i tested using the DBT and tried music through it everytime, i also took voltage measurements from the boards before and after. It was sounding great but the problem came when i changed the trimmer pots on the protection board, i thought i had set them correctly to the old ones but obviously i couldn't have. Upon powering up on the DBT r615 on the power board smoked, i quickly turned off. when i removed r615 it was split in half.
I'm certain this would have took other components out, i would appreciate any guidance given to help with this and hope to learn along the way.
