Hey guys, I need some help with my receiver. It is an old Realistic STA-77A. Here are my issues:
1) The backlights for the tuner have gone out. I have heard that these are not regular bulbs, and that some people opt for LEDs during replacement. Any thoughts?
2) The real problem is with the audio. Whenever my receiver is set to stereo (using the push button switch), my right speaker does not work. However, when I switch to mono, the right speaker comes back on.
3) Also, it seems that the middle-range during songs does not seem to be at full power. Some instruments that are very dynamic while listening on a computer, etc. are very faint using this receiver. Also, I am having the same issues regardless of using speakers, or using the headphone out jack. I don't know if #2 and #3 are related in any way, but I would appreciate any help I can get.
Would a cleaning do the trick, or do these problems necessitate electronic repair?
Thanks!
